©1985 THE STROH BREWERY CO. DETROIT, MICH.

1985 Stroh’s Beer Vintage Light Sign
An awesome vintage STROH’S BEER light sign purchased in the United States☆
And the BEST part…
The back is clearly marked:
“©1985 THE STROH BREWERY CO. DETROIT, MICH.”
So the age isn’t just an estimate—the marking confirms this piece dates to 1985!!
That makes it approximately 40 YEARS OLD◎
A seriously cool piece of vintage American BEER ADVERTISING♪
Stroh’s is a historic beer brand closely associated with DETROIT, and dimensional illuminated advertising signs like this were part of the promotional culture surrounding American bars and beer retailers during the era.
Examples of Stroh’s illuminated advertising from the 1970s and 1980s can even be found in the collections of the Detroit Historical Society☆
But the REAL attraction of this sign comes when you turn it ON!!
Against the BLACK background, the script “Stroh’s” logo glows in RED, surrounded by an illuminated ORANGE border, while the familiar LION emblem sits proudly at the top center◎
Turn it on in a darker room and the lettering and outlines really POP!!
It creates an awesome NEON-LIKE atmosphere without actually being a neon sign☆
And one of our FAVORITE details has to be the THREE BEERS along the bottom!!
Three mugs filled with golden beer and topped with foamy heads brighten up when the sign is illuminated♪
That detail gives it so much more character than a simple logo-only light sign!!
It has exactly the kind of atmosphere you’d imagine seeing inside an OLD AMERICAN BAR☆
The original sign was designed to use a 15W lamp, but this example has been REPAIRED / MODIFIED to accept an E26 bulb for easier continued use◎
It still retains all the character of an old American advertising piece while allowing it to be enjoyed today as an illuminated display!!
After approximately four decades, the surface naturally shows age-related wear including scratches, scuffs, and other signs of previous use.
And that’s exactly the kind of REAL VINTAGE character we love♪
Perfect for a GARAGE, AMERICAN DINER, BAR, HOME BAR, SHOP, or vintage beer advertising collection☆
This is one of those pieces that REALLY comes alive when illuminated in a darker space!!
And these old plastic box-style illuminated advertising signs are getting more expensive too…
The days of finding pieces like this in the ¥10,000 range may not last forever!!
An awesome piece of 1980s AMERICAN BEER ADVERTISING with incredible atmosphere♪
