Michelob DRY

1989 Michelob DRY Vintage Motion Light Sign
This is a seriously COOL vintage light sign!!
An original Michelob DRY advertising light sign by Anheuser-Busch, the legendary American brewing company behind Budweiser☆
The back still retains the marking:
“© 1989 ANHEUSER-BUSCH, INC.”
Clearly dating this piece to 1989!!
That makes it approximately 37 years old as of 2026◎
When turned off, it has an almost mysterious appearance—a dark panel surrounded by a dimensional silver-tone frame.
But once you turn on the lights…
The Michelob DRY bottle, beer glass, and background scenery suddenly emerge from the darkness!!
And this isn’t just an ordinary light sign☆
The front uses a unique panel covered with extremely fine horizontal lines, giving the display a fascinating analog construction and a distinctive visual effect♪
Even when viewed straight on, it has a sense of depth completely different from a typical single-image illuminated sign!!
At the center is a large MICHELOB DRY bottle accompanied by a cold glass of beer, while rocky mountains and a blue sky stretch across the background.
When illuminated, the colorful vintage beer advertisement appears dramatically from the dark panel◎
And the FRAME is just as cool!!
The rounded silver-tone frame features multiple dimensional lines, giving it an unmistakable 1980s RETRO-FUTURISTIC look that perfectly matches its 1989 production date♪
Perfect for a BAR or diner, as well as a garage, billiard room, home bar, or collection room!!
Because the appearance changes so dramatically between OFF and ON, it’s an amazing display piece even when simply mounted on the wall☆
【IMPORTANT – MOTION FUNCTION】
This was originally designed as a MOTION SIGN, with an internal motor moving the film to create an animated effect such as moving waves.
However, the motor is currently not functioning properly, so the MOTION FUNCTION DOES NOT WORK.
The motor has been disconnected from the electrical circuit, but when power is applied directly to the motor, it makes a sound as though the internal gears may be catching or stuck.
Because the motor itself appears to still receive power, we have left the original motor installed inside the sign for someone who may have the knowledge and skills to repair it.
※The sign is currently sold as a LIGHTED DISPLAY ONLY. The motion function is NOT operational.
【LIGHTING】
The original fluorescent lighting has been converted to TWO E26 bulb sockets.
※Bulbs are NOT included.
Standard power plug.
