1974 Schlitz COLD BEER Vintage Light Sign
Part No. 85769
Schlitz Scintillating Cold Beer Sign
©1974 Jos. Schlitz Brewing Co.
Milwaukee, Wisc.
“COLD BEER”

1974 Schlitz COLD BEER Vintage Light Sign
An absolutely MASSIVE vintage Schlitz light sign from 1974☆
The back still retains the original markings:
Part No. 85769
Schlitz Scintillating Cold Beer Sign
©1974 Jos. Schlitz Brewing Co.
Milwaukee, Wisc.
That makes this incredible piece approximately 52 YEARS OLD as of 2026!!
And above all—just look at the SIZE!!
Even when held with both arms stretched out, this thing is HUGE!!
It’s on a completely different scale from an ordinary beer sign, with the powerful presence of a commercial advertising display that looks like it once dominated the wall of an old American BAR♪
And the design is just as incredible!!
On the left is the classic round Schlitz logo, glowing with warm orange-to-yellow tones.
On the right are the enormous words:
“COLD BEER”
The deep green background is surrounded by a dimensional gold-tone frame, while countless tiny points of light appear throughout the COLD BEER lettering☆
This is pure OLD AMERICAN BEER ADVERTISING!!
【IMPORTANT CONDITION INFORMATION】
This sign is now more than half a century old and is NOT in clean condition.
The frame and body show extensive scratches, scuffs, dullness, discoloration, rust, and other age-related wear.
The green panel also shows wrinkles and deterioration from age.
Although difficult to see, there is also cracking inside the round Schlitz logo.
※This is a HEAVY piece and can be difficult to hold for an extended period of time. Because the original hardware may also have deteriorated with age, please use appropriate reinforcement and take extreme care when hanging or mounting the sign.
※The gold-tone frame around the logo section is currently secured with double-sided tape and may come loose easily.
※There is extensive rust throughout the sign. We have wiped and vacuumed the piece, but some loose rust particles / rust powder may still remain.
※Originally, an internal motor was used to change the colors of the lights in the “COLD BEER” section. However, the motor is no longer functioning and has been disconnected from the electrical circuit.
Overall, we would NOT describe this piece as having been preserved in excellent condition.
For that reason, it is priced LOWER than what we would normally expect for an example of this sign.
But at the same time, all of this aging is part of the character of a REAL piece of OLD BEER ADVERTISING that has survived since 1974!!
The rust, wear, fading, and imperfections create an atmosphere that a clean modern reproduction simply cannot recreate◎
【LIGHTING】
In addition to the E26 bulb socket located behind the round Schlitz logo, we have added a new E26 bulb socket and LED lighting to the “COLD BEER” section.
Standard power plug.
※Bulbs are NOT included.
